Against pale boards the blue holds its own without going cold, and the open center keeps the eye from crowding.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pile is a soft faux-wool microfibre, dense and short, kind on bare feet and low enough to run under a door without catching. The rubber backing holds it flat on wood and tile with no pad underneath, which matters most in the runner lengths, where a rug is walked along rather than stood on. Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, then lay flat to dry, no tumble.
