The rug swallows a pale floor and gives a bright room a fixed point, so it rewards plain walls and a few strong shapes rather than more pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pile is a fine soft-touch microfibre, low and smooth, the height that lets a rug pass under a door and stay put beneath a chair leg. Dark grounds show lint more than pale ones, and this one goes straight in the machine. Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, then lay flat to dry, no tumble. The rubber backing grips wood and tile with no pad involved.
