Because the ground gives nothing back, the drawing does all the work: stems, open flowers and the small birds between them read as pale line work on a dark field. Under lamplight the black recedes and only the drawing stays.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe surface is a soft faux-wool microfibre with a dense low pile, soft on bare feet and short enough to sit under a door or a dining chair. Its rubber backing grips wood and tile on its own, with no pad to buy or cut to size. Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, then lay flat to dry, no tumble, and the black comes back matte rather than shiny.
